I Fagiolini stormed the classical charts in March 2011 with the first ever recording of Striggio’s long-lost Mass in a quite amazing 40 Parts.
Described by their conductor and founder Robert Hollingworth as “a thumping good piece of music”, I Fagiolini’s performance is a blend of the colossal and the amazingly intimate; ripping up the rule books by encouraging the audience to roam freely amongst the performers for an incredible and rare surround-sound experience, heightened by its staging within the immense acoustics of York Minster.
