John Siddique has been working to capture the spirit of New Worlds in new words.
John is the best-selling author of Full Blood, Recital – An Almanac, Poems From A Northern Soul and The Prize and has contributed poems, stories, essays and articles to publications including The Guardian, Poetry Review, Granta and The Rialto. He is the co-author of the story/memoir Four Fathers. His children’s book, Don’t Wear It On Your Head was shortlisted for the CLPE Poetry Award in 2007. John teaches creative writing in the UK and abroad and has worked with The British Council, The Arvon Foundation, The Poetry School and The Poetry Society. His recent commissions include work for Manchester Literature Festival and Art Gallery, Canterbury Poetry City and Blackpool Council. His work is enjoyed all around the world – not just in books but on radio, in film, incorporated into dance and displayed in galleries.
