Madani and Freedom Studios were behind The Mill, the sell-out show set in a disused Bradford Mill.
Madani Younis has worked nationally and internationally as a director, writer and theatre practitioner. After graduating with an MPhil in Playwriting from the University of Birmingham, Madani was appointed director of Red Ladder Theatre Company’s Asian Theatre School in 2002. The evolution of the Asian Theatre School under Madani’s direction has seen it become an independent, stand-alone organisation – Freedom Studios – regularly funded by Arts Council England. Freedom Studios seeks to offer the creative space for a new generation of artists to explore, develop and deliver their practice. Madani’s debut short film ELLABELLAPUMPANELLA was screened at Cannes in 2007.
