Paul has been working with the Extraordinary Moves team to explore and capture the themes of the project.
Paul Floyd Blake is a Jamaican-English photographer who started his professional career over a decade ago, after working as a lorry driver and a semi-professional footballer. After graduating with a first class degree, one of Paul’s first commissions was as a photographer for the Manchester Commonwealth Games in 2002, which resulted in the exhibition and publication AFTERSHOCK. Paul’s interest in sports documentary photography was developed through a body of work entitled Sports for Sport’s Sake, which was exhibited in Leeds, Manchester and as part of the international exhibition The Human Game. An image from On Track for 2012 was overall winner of the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize at the National Portrait Gallery in 2009. Paul’s work focuses on the intricacies of ordinary life, blending classical compositions with contemporary issues. More information can be found at www.floydphotography.co.uk.
