Wingbeats

Flying is the ultimate freedom of movement and Wingbeats explores flight in all its forms, from the bevies of birds at Bempton and Flamborough Head to the inspirational story of Amy Johnson, Yorkshire’s own aviatrix.

Wingbeats is teaming amazing artists with local schoolchildren to create work inspired not only by the theme of flight but by the spectacular scenery of the East Coast of Yorkshire. There are dance performances, new writing, exhibitions, music performances and special guests – something for everyone who has ever dreamt of spreading their wings and taking flight.

Enjoyed the performance and thought all the performers were super and the 8 and 9 year old children of Flamborough School were great as a choir and dancers. A very big thank you to Em who helped the children with their singing and Jan and Sarah who worked so hard on the costumes and dance. Finally a big thank you to the adults who ferried the children on Saturday and Sunday it was no mean feat. Thank you to the wonderful floor manager who kept everyone right with their cues. Congratulations to one and all.
